Protesting in Downtown Toronto
A protest organized by the Toronto Community Mobilization Network, called “Justice in Our Communities” is currently taking place. Protesters started marching at 3pm, left Allan Gardens and are currently at Elm and University, with the police allowing the protest to continue west on Elm. According to the Globe and Mail, today’s protest is expected to last throughout the night, with the protesters making a make-shift tent city. The Globe has also received a notice that the protest security level has been raised to “red”, with an intense police presence in riot gear.
