European Union deems summit “successful,” but much work to be done.
Today at 2:45pm (CET) in the International Press Centre at the G20 in Cannes, France, the European Union conducted a wide-ranging press conference.
Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council, and Jose Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission, stressed that preservation of the Euro was “more necessary than ever.”
The EU went on to vocally support plans to bolster support for IMF resourcing “not only for Europe, but for the world.”
In the realm of trade, Barroso voiced optimism that trade ministers would be able to “come with some progress” at a ministerial meeting in December in Geneva.
Said Barroso, “A successful summit? Yes. But still a lot, a lot, a lot to do globally.”
