The French Presidency has been awarded a score of 0.75 for reaffirming the G8s commitment to the Muskoka Initiative, addressing maternal, newborn, and child health. The final communiqué states that the G8 will continue to monitor the implementation of the principles of the Muskoka Initiative “in coordination with all partners, including stakeholders in the Global Strategy for Women’s and Children’s Health.” However, there was no mention in the communiqué about health system strengthening, country partnerships, or accountability with respect to the Muskoka Initiative.
