United Kingdom: Food Security [1]
Food security was one the most prominent points of discussion during the 2012 Camp David Summit. A “New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition” was advanced to substantially “accelerate the flow of private capital to African agricultural research. The Camp David Declaration thus not only reaffirms the G8’s commitment to food security through the 2009 L’Aquila Food Security Initiative (AFSI), but substantially extends the research investment and overseas development aid (ODA) promised through AFSI. The UK thus receives a score of 1.
